M 83 in Hydra 27th March 2020 @ 01:29 UT
I thought I was having trouble with M68 (Globular at 12 deg altitude) but M83 at 9 degrees! Not much to see here folks.
Image: 15 seconds x 32 frames (480 seconds total), gain 6584, bin 2x2, Raw 14, black level 99, camera temperature 7.5 deg C, 1 dark. Stacked in SharpCap Pro 3.2.6248.0. The image was stacked and adjusted in SharpCap. The image was scaled down and cropped in GIMP.
I might be able to draw out more with a longer photon soak but this is not going to be a M 51.
Equipment: Celestron CPC-800 at F5.9, Alt-Az mount, Altair Astro Hypercam 294C Pro Cooled (fan), Celestron Focuser, CPWI controlled remotely via Microsoft RDP and ASCOM.
Astrometry: M 83 is 16 million light years distant.
Charles Messier added M 83 in 1781.
